John A. Distler, M.D.
Dr. Distler, a Board Certified Ophthalmologist, has been delivering
quality eye care to the residents of Jefferson, Oldham
and surrounding counties since 1985. Dr. Distler received
his medical education at the University of Louisville School
of Medicine and completed his residency in ophthalmology
at The Ohio State University in Columbus. He then pursued
a fellowship in retinal surgery at Harvard University.
Dr. Distler is trained in comprehensive ophthalmology and
his services include the management of cataracts, diabetes
and glaucoma. A Louisville native, Dr. Distler has been actively involved in the surgical training of residents at the
University of Louisville. He became interested in overseas
medicine during his first trip to a mission hospital in
Nigeria. He served as the Government Ophthalmologist on the island of St. Lucia for 18 months in the early 1980's and has made numerous trips to Romania and other
Eastern European countries where he educates other ophthalmologists
to improve the quality of eye care being provided in their
countries. |

Anne C. Huntington, M.D.
Dr. Huntington, a native of London, England, is certified by
the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh, Scotland), as
well as the American and Canadian Boards of Ophthalmology.
She earned her medical degree from the University of Manchester,
England and obtained her residency training at the University
of Manchester, the University of Manitoba and the University
of Louisville. She also completed fellowships in ocular
pathology at the University of Toronto and at the Walter
Reed Medical Center. Dr. Huntington is trained in comprehensive
ophthalmology and her services include the management of
cataracts, diabetes, glaucoma and dry eyes. Since joining
Bluegrass Eye Center in 1990, Dr. Huntington has volunteered
her services in Romania and St. Lucia. |

B. Matthew Blair, M.D.
Dr. Blair attended the University of Kentucky College of Medicine
where he earned his medical degree and completed his residency
in ophthalmology. He is a board certified member of the
American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society
of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He is trained in comprehensive
ophthalmology and his services include the management and
treatment of cataracts, diabetes, glaucoma, dry eyes and
oculoplastics. He also specializes in laser vision correction
(IntraLase®, LASIK, PRK), Prelex and Conductive Keratoplasty
(CK). He and his wife have four children. As a Kentucky
native, Dr. Blair enjoys serving the communities of Jefferson,
Oldham and surrounding counties. |
